Jannalyn Bailey’s work is both playful and impressive.
With meticulously hand-built clay forms adorned with layers of soft colors and gold luster, Jannalyn’s one-of-a-kind pieces reflect her fun sense of humor as well as her deep knowledge of fine art.
After going to both undergraduate and graduate school for fine art and painting, Jannalyn eventually took a class from a friend she had known in graduate school where she learned to work with clay. She immediately fell in love with the medium and continued to hone her skills and build a collection of work. In 2014, Jannalyn started her business out of her home. She now works in a studio in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Jannalyn’s work is truly a product of who she is. Her deep background in painting has informed her work in such a unique and refreshing way—shapes only seen in paintings come alive in true, usable forms. Her love of color, depth and texture are reflected throughout everything she makes and her fun personality and willingness to experiment is the reason she has been able to bring these wonderful forms to life.
