Elizabeth Benotti Interchanging traditional slipcasting, handbuilding and wheel-throwing techniques, Elizabeth creates a canvas on which she explores the relationship between everyday objects, color, image and form. Her work is accented by distinctive drawings and patterns achieved through a mastery of the mishima process (a technique of inlaying slip, underglaze or even clay into a contrasting clay body), which allows her to resolve fine detail with ultra-sharp edges.
